The So So Glos - Island Ridin’

Armed with two guitars, a ukulele, lots of hugs and larger than life voices, Nalani and Sarina took the Meet the Music Monday studios by storm. They discussed their old-school musical influences, the joys of being a twin and how a six-song EP turned into a full-length album. They also performed for us in-studio. Needless to say, these chicks rocked our socks off.

Visit Nalani and Sarina via their website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube.

The latest episode of my podcast, Meet the Music Monday. I can’t even begin to tell you how talented and sweet Nalani and Sarina are. But you can listen for yourself. (And I highly suggest you do.)

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Simple and Sure

I want to go to a park and swing on some swings and have this song play the whole time I’m doing it.

Derek & the Dominos - Layla

There are some songs that are 7 minutes and feel like they’re 7 minutes. This one? Not so much. Gimmie 7 more minutes, please.

Los Campesinos! - Avocado, Baby

The weather has finally warmed back up and this song is so appropriate to ride around to with the windows down, your hair billowing in the breeze and a milkshake in your hand. (Because who needs two hands to drive when you’re this gangsta, amirite?)

Tallhart - Wolves

This song was on my half-marathon playlist last year. Yeah, I know, odd choice for a race playlist, but when you’re running for 13.1 miles, you start to want something different than the typical pump-up song. Anyway, this is an appropriate tune for this rainy day.
